Took place on 4-5th January, Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2020 powered by Taiwan Excellence marked an impressive success in starting the new decade of running movement in Vietnam, strongly promoting a healthy and active lifestyle to the community.

The 7th edition of the annual city race featured over 9,000 runners from 72 countries and territories, from 97 groups and companies. Thousands of both Vietnamese & International runners have competed in the marathon/half marathon/10KM/5KM and Kid Dash 1.5 KM. Not just our runners, hundreds of volunteers from 7 major universities in Ho Chi Minh City also contributed a big part to the success of the event. Besides, there are more than 40 brands that joined as sponsors & partners from different categories that supported and brought the active image of Ho Chi Minh city closer to the world. 

Over 9,000 runners participated in the marathon/half marathon/10Km/5Km.

Foreign runners from 72 countries and territories came to run & explore the Ho Chi Minh City Marathon 2020 powered by Taiwan Excellence.

The race is also designed for kids to participate in 1.5Km run and take up the sport while they are young. Kids are encouraged to come out to have fun and be part of this momentous occasion.

Participants from 97 groups and companies joined as part of a company building and improving employees’ wellness.

Taiwan Excellence – Title sponsor of Ho Chi Minh City Marathon for over 6 years, is also the main  sponsor of Berlin Marathon – one of the 6 biggest marathons in the world from ABBOTT WORLD MARATHON MAJORS

The “Living space experience” was brought to HCMC Marathon by The Title Sponsor – Taiwan Excellence creating modern experiences for participants with many technological products from more than 24 brands.

Singer Minh Hang – the brand ambassador of Taiwan Excellence gave a performance on stage.

Naturally Plus – Izumio hydrogen drink brand from Japan was the bronze sponsor of the HCMC Marathon 2020 Powered by Taiwan Excellence bringing the interesting activities which attracted many people on the event day.

Especially laughter yoga – One of the highlight activities of HCMC Marathon 2020 powered by Taiwan Excellence this year.

Aligning with its desire to nurture community values, the tradition of making donations to the Orange Initiative Project through the Ho Chi Minh City Peace and Development Fund (HPDF) has been upheld for four years, helping to raise awareness and empathy for the disabled and victims of Agent Orange.

 It would not be the same without the help of volunteers from 7 major universities in Ho Chi Minh City.

The HCMC Marathon 2020 ended with the award ceremony. Top 3 athletes for different distances were awarded by: Mr. Mai Ba Hung, Deputy Director of HCMC Department of Culture and Sports; Mr. Nguyen Trung Hinh, Vice Chairman of Vietnam Athletics Federation; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, General Secretary of Vietnam Athletics Federation; Mr. Hoang Manh Cuong, Director General of High-Performance Sports Department 1; Mr. Nguyen Nam Nhan, Head of Sports Management Department – Department of  Ho Chi Minh City Culture and Sports and Representative of the Organizer Pulse Active – Mr. Bady Pham.

Pulse Active – The organizer aims to bring the race to more runners not only in Vietnam but also around the world, contributing to the running community. With the new campaign “More than a race”, HCMC Marathon is where runners are inspired and inspire the other in starting a new year by achieving new goals. Additionally, for HCMC Marathon is on its way to accomplishing the “Road to 10” journey, celebrating the 10-year edition.
